Well it’s pretty obvious that our posture is our structural appearance. But it’s not as simple as just the way we stand up.
Our posture can also affect how our body functions.
The brain and spinal cord are sensitive to poor posture, which can actually cause nervous system disturbances and lead to things like headaches and muscular tension.
Our cervical spine has a natural 43-degree curve to it. When that is reduced or reversed the head is carried forward of the center of gravity.
For every one inch of forward head posture, the head effectively weighs ten more pounds and now muscles have to labor to keep our head up. This can cause neck pain, back pain, and muscle fatigue.
Correcting a problem like forward head carriage is a job for chiropractic!
